We Do
Moving the Needle on Three Fronts. Far more than just a building, AMICSTL is a dynamic ecosystem that nurtures workforce development, research and development, and prototyping and production for eight sectors across St. Louis’ burgeoning advanced manufacturing industry, including Aerospace, Biomedical, and Geospatial.
Leveraging Workforce. Advanced manufacturing demands a skilled workforce. To bring our inclusive economic opportunity goals to fruition, AMICSTL will connect industry leaders, regional manufacturing leaders, universities, community and trade colleges, and community organizations. Together, we will build pathways for individuals throughout the region, and especially for residents in the neighborhoods where we are located, to get the training, development, and hands-on experience they need to succeed in well-paying advanced manufacturing careers.
Research & Development. Manufacturers conduct an estimated 55% of all private sector Research & Development. Through the construction of our state-of-the-art facility, AMICSTL will provide affordable access to applied R&D technology and expertise at every stage of the advanced manufacturing process. To support these R&D efforts, AMICSTL is leveraging the talent and technology of numerous regional and state university partners.
Production & Prototyping. Every dollar spent on manufacturing generates $2.60 for the overall economy. AMICSTL’s cutting edge manufacturing space and R&D facilities will allow manufacturers to develop prototypes and map out low-scale production strategies, helping to shorten the journey through ideation to manufacturing production.

Boeing puts $5M into new AMICSTL manufacturing facility. Boeing announced Friday it will be partnering with the St. Louis Regional Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Center to open a brand new manufacturing facility in north St. Louis City.
