AMICSTL Selects PARIC Corporation to Build Phase 1 Facility
From Construction Forum STL:
The Advanced Manufacturing Innovation Center St. Louis (AMICSTL) has taken a major step toward transforming the region into a national hub for manufacturing leadership, announcing PARIC as the general contractor for its Phase 1 facility in North St. Louis City—a major milestone in accelerating advanced manufacturing research and development, workforce training and integration, and production and prototyping.
The construction project team for the nearly 52,000 square-foot Phase 1 facility is led by Cobalt Construction Consulting who has served as owner’s representative assisting with public funding compliance, design, pre-construction, and construction activities.
The building’s design is by Fox Architects. Slated for completion in Spring 2027, AMICSTL will feature high-bay manufacturing space, specialized labs, state-of-the-art equipment, and collaborative areas for innovators and entrepreneurs. More than just a building, it will serve as the launch point where ideas become realities, fueling innovation across industries from aerospace and biomedical to ag-tech, advanced materials, geospatial, energy, construction, and beyond. It’s a space where talent meets technology, turning ideas into careers, solutions, and economic impact.
“This facility represents a major investment in research, talent, and collaboration,” said Dennis Muilenburg, AMICSTL Board Chairman. “It will create opportunities that drive innovation, economic growth, and life-changing careers. With Phase 1 underway, we look forward to expanding our partnerships across industry, education, and community to maximize long-term impact. Selecting PARIC as our general contractor is a critical step in making this vision a reality.”
AMICSTL’s work is already in motion. For more than a year, the 501(c)(3) organization has engaged with industry, workforce and training providers, educational institutions, students, researchers, and other stakeholders to address the evolving needs of manufacturers. AMICSTL continues to expand its programs in research, prototyping, and workforce integration, while inviting industry, philanthropic, and community stakeholders to contribute to help expand its reach and impact.
Founded in 1979, PARIC is one of the Midwest’s leading construction firms, recognized for its focus on safety, innovation, and community impact. “We are honored to serve as the general contractor for AMICSTL’s transformative project,” said Mike Rallo, Jr., President. “Together, we are building a facility that will empower innovation and create lasting opportunities for the St. Louis region and beyond.”
Supported by federal, state, local, industry and philanthropic entities, AMICSTL is designed as a collaborative engine to connect manufacturers, entrepreneurs, researchers, and workforce training providers. By aligning cutting-edge research with hands-on training, AMICSTL helps address the millions of advanced manufacturing jobs projected nationwide in the next decade while expanding pathways to high-quality careers.
